This season is also a time to think of those who are less fortunate and to find a way to share with them. This year my shop is participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association drive. I have been asked to volunteer to go to the "lock-up" January 26th. I need to raise $3200 "bail money" to get out of "jail". This money, of course, is for Jerry's kids. Did you know that a $35.00 donation can mean the difference between life and death for one of these kids? That amount of money provides a flu shot that is lifesaving for someone with MD. You can click on the following link to see what else your money can do to help and to join me in donating to this cause.
Because I am having back surgery on January 11th I will not be able to attend the "lock-up" luncheon, but I hope that you will still help me raise the "bail" money,
I am also thinking ahead to next year. We have a new block of the month planned and a Thimbleberries club. There will also be a Mystery Quilt this year which will start in April. This shop is the only shop in the area to have Debbie Caffrey's newest mystery. We will be starting new knitting classes and more. Stay in touch. Because of my back surgery, some of the classes will have a delayed start. My wonderful staff, all of whom I could not do without, will be taking care of my shop and helping you while I recuperate. We will still do special orders and things will go on pretty much as usual with only a few changes until I am back on my feet. When spring rolls around I am hoping to be like new. While I am out I will be doing some planning and looking at new things to do and how to work them in. I will try to keep up with my e-mail if you want to e-mail me with questions, etc. My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Again, I hope all of you have a most blessed season and a very Happy New Year!
