July Yarn Shop Hop & quilt news
Hello again!
Hope everyone had a great and safe 4th of July. Can you believe it? Summer vacations are in full swing and soon it will be back to school. But, talking about vacations - Old Town Needlecrafts is participating in a yarn shop hop this July. The way this works is, you come into the shop, purchase one of the shop hop bags for $20. Take the bag with you to any or all the shops listed on the bag and you will get 15% off of any of your yarn purchases.( I'm sure this excludes yarn that is already on sale, although I didn't ask.) Any time you buy $25.00 worth of yarn your name will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate from the store where you are making a purchase. If you buy more than $25 at a time, your name will be entered for each $25 of yarn that you have purchased. Each store listed is giving away one $100 gift certificate. This Shop Hop runs until July 31st. Let's get shopping! Road Trip!
Now for other news! We are going to be doing a Block of the Month starting July 25th. Actually, block -of-the-month is a little deceiving, since in order to keep up it will be necessary to make 3 blocks each month.Thequilt will be a sampler style quilt and what I call "loosely planned scrappy." There is a option to make it scrappier if you choose. The cost is $7/month for your packets which will include enough fabric for the threeblocks plus your instructions. In order to finish the quilt you will need another 51/8 yards of various other fabrics of your choosing. This quilt allows for a great deal of creativity and because of that you will not be shown a finished receive a black and white outline of the quilt, we are leaving a little bit of mystery in it to allow for creativity. There is room for 15 participants.
We have been getting regular shipments of fabrics for fall and Christmas. I have a new halloween one from Exclusively Quilters that is just adorable. I also just received Hoffman Christmas fabric and "Frosted Memories" from Moda. Most of my "Autumn Bounty" fabric from Andover has arrived. By next week it should all be here. Andover Fabrics have free downloadable patterns on their website at andoverfabrics.com. Check it out.
